This is our story...

Windborne is a 1977, Pearson 35 I purchased from her second owners back in November of 2018. Currently, I'm pouring my heart and soul, plus an enormous amount of time and money in to updating this wonderful forty year old vessel to ensure she can be enjoyed for many more years to come.

While this may be the start of the Windborne Reborn blog, the work has been ongoing for about two years now. Don't worry, you haven't missed much, and I'll get you all caught up on the work I've already done. The progress has been pretty slow and the scope of work has increased substantially, but 2021 promises for a few big projects to be marked complete, so it seemed like if I'm ever going to start this blog, now was the time.

Creating this blog has been one of the many items on my to do list for the past two years. While I've oscillated between creating videos and writing, in the end I think it's fair to say, videos just aren't my thing. As much as I have enjoyed watching YouTube channels like SailLife, MJ Sailing and Sailing Uma, which have largely been the inspiration for this undertaking, I've always been a bit of a goofy introvert, that is much more comfortable behind the camera. Perhaps I'll post some short videos of certain projects, but don't expect a new YouTube series. Sorry! You'll just have to do some light reading to keep up with things here.

If you actually have experience working on boats, you'll probably see plenty posts and start scratching your head. Yes. I'm what you might call a newb. I do not have any experience working on boats, and even my sailing experience is minimal. This is an entirely brand new adventure for me, and that means I'm going to make mistakes and sometimes break the rules, but I'm going to have fun doing it. That's the point after all right... We grow by trying new things, pushing ourselves, making mistakes. That's what living is.
